About Us

“If you have come here to help me, you are wasting your time. But if you have come because your liberation is bound up with mine, then let us work together.” — Lilla Watson
We Heal Us Project is rooted in mutualism, the belief that our healing is bound together—that we heal not in isolation, but in relationship with one another and the systems we move through. We believe that healing must happen on every level: in people, in practice, and in policy.
Our work blends the power of science with the depth of relationship, offering healing-centered strategies that meet people where they are. Whether it’s through direct care and therapeutic support, resourcing and consulting for practitioners, or transforming systems and policies, we aim to come alongside communities everywhere.
We understand healing as a two-way street. As we heal ourselves, we carry that healing into our relationships, communities, and work. And as we shift practices and policies to be more just, caring, and responsive, we create the conditions where individuals can heal and thrive.
Together—through mutual care and collective action—we are reclaiming our power and reimagining what’s possible. By centering healing in people, practice, and policy, we are working toward a world where care is not the exception, but the foundation of how we live and lead.

Hi, I’m Chelsie! Since 2009, I’ve been working alongside youth and families in crisis as a chaplain, youth advocate, mental health counselor, and consultant.
As a therapist- I love working with youth, young adults, and practitioners in helping and advocacy professions. My areas of specialty include:
• Complex Trauma
• Religious Trauma
• Spirituality
• Youth Development
• Justice-impacted Individuals
• Depression and Anxiety
• Life Transitions
• Power and Control Dynamics in Relationships and Systems
I believe healing is a fully embodied, holistic process. I take a narrative and somatic approach—supporting you as the expert of your own life and walking with you as you reclaim your power and write the story you want to live.
Beyond the therapy room- I’ve worn a lot of hats—serving in leadership roles at both local and national levels. I’ve been boots on the ground as a direct care worker, site coordinator, and executive director. Most recently, I served as the National Juvenile Justice Director at one of the largest organizations supporting justice-involved youth in the country, taught as an adjunct professor at several colleges, and continue to serve on the advisory board of my local juvenile detention center.
Additionally, I’ve had the privilege of coming alongside hundreds of leaders and program sites across the U.S. I believe advocacy and consulting should take a bottom-up and top-down approach—community work should be shaped by exactly that: the community—while integrating resourcing, training, and best practices.
FINALLY. Because life’s too short to be serious all the time, you’ll find me rock climbing (and mostly falling), rolling dice in Dungeons & Dragons, attempting to mother my unimpressed dog, being the cool auntie (self-proclaimed, but still accurate), laughing way too much, and just trying my best to love the person in front of me.
