Mutual Aid Fund
What Is Mutual Aid?
Healing doesn’t happen in isolation—it happens in community. Mutual aid is about meeting each other’s needs through collective support, where everyone has something to give and something to receive.
We Heal Us Project is rooted in the belief that care is about building relationships based on common humanity, not hierarchy; and that care should be accessible and shared. As part of this commitment, we maintain a Mutual Aid Fund to provide therapy sessions for youth impacted by the juvenile justice system.

Why It Matters
We believe in healing through connection, not control. Our mission is to provide trauma-informed therapy to youth in the juvenile justice system—no barriers, no shame, just care.
90%
of justice-involved youth have experienced abuse.
PTSD = Veterans
Youth in the system show PTSD rates as high as war veterans.
Systemic Disparities
BIPOC youth, LGBTQ+ youth, and low-income youth are most impacted.
Misunderstood Behavior
Without support, trauma shows up as “defiance” or “crime.”
